Eight new deaths, 182 new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan

The province’s dashboard is reporting 182 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.

Eight more people have died after testing positive for COVID-19. It brings the death toll up to 886.

The new cases come from the south east (38), Regina (36), the central east (27), Saskatoon (26), the north west (16), the north central (11), the south central (six), the south west (five), the central west (five), the far north east (four) and the far north west (three).

The seven-day average of daily new cases is down slightly to 137, which is equal to a seven-day new average of 11.4 new cases per 100,000 residents. 34.1 percent of the new cases are in kids 11 or younger, who are not eligible to be vaccinated. 110 cases (61.8 percent) were in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

There were 120 recoveries announced. The active case count is up to 1,428.

Hospitalizations are down slightly Thursday. There are 178 people in hospital, including 49 in ICU.

Thursday’s new cases come from 2,277 new tests that were processed.

When it comes to vaccinations, another 2,980 doses were administered, including 931 first doses.
