Two charged after armed robbery in northwest Regina

Regina Police have arrested and charged two men in relation to an armed robbery that took place in the city’s northwest end last month.

On October 18, police were sent to a retail business on the 3800 block of Rochdale Boulevard, where two men with firearms entered and stole cash and merchandise, before fleeing in a vehicle.

A loaded firearm was left at the scene, and later recovered by police.

Investigation lead to the arrest of two suspects on Friday.

Thirty-one year-old Guy Kendrick Lenny Favel, and Maynard Dwayne Assiniboine, both of Regina, are jointly charged with:

• Robbery with a Firearm
• Disguise with Intent
• Possession of a Weapon
• Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession Unauthorized
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
• Possession of a Loaded Firearm

Favel was also Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order, Assiniboine was additionally charged with : Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of Offence.

Both of the accused made their first court appearances on Monday.
