Two teens arrested after gun shot from neighboring home nearly strikes man next door

Regina Police say two teenagers are facing a slew of charges after a gun fired in a home, blew a hole in a bedroom next door, close to where a man was present.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning, officers were sent to the 700 block of Garnet Street.

The man said he had heard a loud bang and saw a hole in a bedroom wall right next to him.

RPS. arrived and  discovered the bullet had indeed come from a neighbouring house.

Police investigated the neighbouring home and located two suspects who were arrested and safely taken into custody.

A firearm and ammunition were also located in the residence and were seized by Police.

A 16-year-old girl, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:

• Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
• Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm contrary to prohibition
• Failure to Comply with Condition of Release Order

A 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:

• Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
• Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm contrary to prohibition

Both teens made their first court appearances on Monday, November 15.
