The Regina Pats could not overcome some undisciplined play and a slow start as they lost 4-2 to the Red Deer Rebels last night.
The Pats were outshot 14-6 in the opening frame, but thanks to a goal from Ryker Evans, they were only down 2-1.
Following Evans’ goal, Red Deer would score three straight to give them a three-goal lead before Borya Valis scored to cut the lead to two goals with three minutes left, but the Rebels would hold on to the end the Pats three-game winning game.
For the Pats, this marks their first loss since John Paddock took over behind the bench.
The Pats now drop to 9-11 on the season, while Red Deer is 15-8-1-0.
Regina won’t have to wait long to try and get back in the win column, as they are in Calgary taking on the Hitman this afternoon.
