Latest COVID-19 update shows 42 new cases

The amount of active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan is at its lowest spot since mid-August.

The latest numbers from the government on Tuesday show 42 new cases and no new deaths with the active case count sitting at 715.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (1), North West (2), North Central (1), Saskatoon (9), Central East (9), Regina (7), South West (2), South Central (3) and South East (3) zones and five (5) new cases have pending residence information.

There are 133 people in hospital including 37 in the ICU.  Of those 133, almost 70 percent were not fully vaccinated.  Four patients continue to receive care out of province and are not included in the provincial numbers.

The seven-day average has dropped to 73 which is the lowest it has been since August 9.

There were 2,620 vaccines put into the arms of Saskatchewan people on Monday with over 2,400 being first doses.
