After a full day of delegations and discussions Thursday regarding Regina’s 2022 Operating and Utility Budget, city council could not finish their deliberations.

However, there were two amendments to the budget passed.

In a 6-5 vote, one saw the restatement of the golf course tax subclass. The other saw the city council allocate $209,240 to the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District to fund a Community Support Program in the Warehouse District in 2022. That funding would be paid through funding is expensed from the Community Safety Wellness funding source provided in 2022.

City Council will be back Friday morning at 9:00 a.m..

On the agenda are the proposed mill rate increase of 3.49 per cent and an increase in the utility rate of five per cent.

That mill rate will cost the average Regina homeowner $6.31 per month, or $75.72 per year, with the average resident an extra $7.25 per month, or $87.05 per year due to the utility rate.
