The Western Hockey League announced Thursday the pausing of team activities for the Swift Current Broncos because of four players being placed on the WHL COVID-19 Protocol List due to exhibiting symptoms or having tested positive for COVID-19. It’s believed that the exposure to COVID-19 occurred outside of the team’s environment.
As a result, the Broncos games scheduled for December 30 against the Winnipeg Ice and December 31 against the Regina Pats have been postponed.
The games will be made up at a later date.
No other WHL clubs are impacted at this time.
The Broncos have paused all on ice activities including on ice practices and off ice training pending further tests. The WHL will provide further information when it becomes available.
