Residential roads snow plow on hold

Due to Tuesday’s snowfall and with more snow anticipated later this week, city crews have switched to a systematic plow and have temporarily paused the residential road snow plow that began earlier this week.

A systematic plow is where crews are plowing and applying ice control to Category Roads 1-3 beginning with high volume, high speed roads which is followed by the transit routes. Snow ridges are also removed from school zones when school is not in session.

Crews will be returning to residential road snow plow beginning on Sunday, January 9 at 7 am, and will be working until the work is complete, which is expected to last over 8 days, weather permitting.

Drivers are reminded to use caution when travelling city roads and near snow equipment. Keep yourself, passengers and  operators safe by staying back at least 3.5 car lengths  or 15 metres  from the equipment.
