It is another record breaking daily case count as Omicron Surges across the province of Saskatchewan.

The province reported 1170 new covid 19 cases January 7th breaking the previous daily case count record.

Of the new cases 259 are in the Saskatoon region and 314 are in the Regina area, 131 are in the South east region.

There are 105 hospitalized cases due to COVID-19 including 11 in ICU.

There are no new deaths to report – holding that total to 961.

3778 Pcr tests were administered – showing a test positivity rate of 31% for the province
