Ahead of a weekend where the Saskatchewan Legislature will face an onslaught of FROST and discontent. Premier Scott Moe is echoing the need for peaceful organization.

A pair of protests are planned for Saturday – one featuring truckers who are opposed to vaccine mandates preventing cross border travel – the other the Saskatchewan Liberal Party taking issue with Premier Scott Moe’s decision to loosen public health orders and put Saskatchewan on the path to living with COVID.

All of this will be taking place against the backdrop of the first annual FROST Regina festival. From a virtual meeting of Canada’s premiers today Scott Moe called for peaceful protests.

“they have the right to protest and have their voice heard. However what I will say with respect to that, is they most certainly should be doing so in a peaceful way, but need to be doing so within the confines of the laws that are there.”

As of Friday afternoon extra blockades had been positioned around the Saskatchewan Legislature in an effort to keep access to Wascana park reserved for foot traffic so that individuals who want to access the frost festival can.
