Bedard unable to carry Pats to win over Hitman

A spectacular Connor Bedard goal wouldn’t be enough for the Regina Pats to beat the Calgary Hitman as they lost 5-4 in overtime.

The Hitman would open up the scoring with two goals in the first period. Bedard would open up the scoring for the Pats with a goal-of-the-year candidate.

After the highlight-reel goal, the flood gates would open up in the third period as Calgary would answer back to regain their two-goal lead, but Ryker Evans would score two goals, with Bedard adding his second of the game to give the Pats the lead. However, heartbreak would once again hit the Pats as with 12 seconds left the Hitman would tie the game up and send in overtime where they ended up eventually winning the game.

For the Pats, it makes their fifth loss in a row. Regina will have one more chance to end their losing streak on their Alberta road trip as they are in action on Tuesday taking on the Edmonton Oil Kings.
