Oil Kings hand Pats their sixth straight loss

The Regina Pats road trip in Alberta ended on a down note as the Pats were defeated by the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-3 in Tuesday’s matinee affair.

The Oil Kings jumped out to a three goal lead early into the second period before the Pats came storming back.

Stanislav Svozil scored a pair of goals before Connor Bedard added his 25th goal of the season making it a 3-3 game early in the second period.

The Oil Kings would pull away adding three goals to make the final 6-3.

White City’s Kelton Pyne made his WHL debut for the Pats and made 36 saves, including a save on a penalty shot from Dylan Guenther, the 9th overall pick from the 2021 draft.

The Pats will have a break from the road when they return to the Brandt Centre on Friday night, when they meet the Calgary Hitmen.
