It’s been a whirlwind of a year for Weyburn-born artist Tenille Arts.
Arts was nominated for best new female artist of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards and is nominated for Country Album of the Year at this year’s Juno Awards in May.
She will also be touring ‘across the pond’ in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands, including a performance on March 13 at the C2C Country to Country Music Festival at London’s famous O2 Arena, where she’ll perform on the same day as country music giants Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde and Hailey Whitters.
“I love going over there, and I’ve been over a few times now, and it gets bigger and better every year,” she said. “There’s a ton of country music fans over there.”
Just finding out she was getting nominated for the award was a thrill for Arts.
“I was so excited, I didn’t even know the nominations were coming out that day and I woke up to a hundred texts of people congratulating me, ” said Arts to CKRM’s Colin Lovequist recently. “I was just so excited because last year I was nominated and it was a very different year.”
Arts lost to Lainey Wilson for best new female artist of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
