Pats double Broncos to move closer to playoff spot

Connor Bedard scored a shorthanded goal and an empty netter as the Regina Pats won a crucial 4-2 game Friday night in Swift Current over the Broncos.

The win brings the Pats to within four points of the eighth place Broncos with four games to go.

Borya Valis and Logan Nijhoff, with the winning goal, also scored for the Pats, who were outshot 39-26. The Pats got a 37-save performance from Kelton Pyne in the win and both teams were 0-3 with the man advantage.

The Pats next action is at the Brandt Centre against the Prince Albert Raiders, another team the Pats are trying to catch in the standings.
