Pats topple Raiders, now trail final playoff spot by two points

The Regina Pats won their second game in a row last night, 5-3 over the visiting Prince Albert Raiders.

Connor Bedard scored twice, including the eventual game winner in the third. Logan Nijhoff, Tanner Howe and Borja Valis scored the others. Pats goaltender Kelton Pyne stopped a pair of penalty shots in the game and 27 shots overall in the win.

The Pats were missing Ryker Evans, Stanislav Svozil, Spencer Welke, Tye Spencer, Adam McNutt and Zach Stringer in the game.

With three games to go, the Pats are now only two points behind the Swift Current Broncos for the eighth and final playoff spot, but are one of three teams trying to catch the Broncos.

The Pats play in Winnipeg against the WHL-leading Ice Thursday and Friday before finishing the season at home Sunday against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
