Pats blown out on scoreboard by Ice

It was guaranteed win night at the Brandt Centre last night, and the team listed as the home team won.

Unfortunately for the Regina Pats it was not them, as they were the road team officially and the storm-displaced Winnipeg Ice crushed the Pats 6-1.

Down 5-0 after the first, the Pats could only muster a second period goal by Braxton Whitehead as their tally in the game. Spencer Welke and Kelton Pyne combined for 17 saves in net.

Connor Bedard was stopped on a second period penalty shot by the Ice’ Daniel Hauser.

Still 2 points back of Swift Current and now also Prince Albert for the final playoff spot, the Pats are still in the playoff hunt with a game Saturday night against the Ice and one more Sunday against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
