A local man is facing arson and assault charges after an incident on Sunday morning.

Police and Fire crews received a report around 8:00 am, of a man starting a fire in a dwelling on the 800 block of Rae Street.

The suspect was located a short time later.

After a short investigation, police discovered a woman had been in the dwelling at the time of the fire and she had been a victim of several assaults.

Police were able to locate the woman a short time later. The woman had exited the dwelling prior to the arrival of the police.

43 year old Dallas Peters is facing multiple charges and made his first court appearance on Monday.
