Stolen Car Smashes into House in Regina

A 28 year old woman is facing charges, after a car smashed into a house on Grey Street.

According to Regina Police, a suspected stolen car was spotted at Pasqua and 5th Avenue around 3:00 AM Wednesday morning.

An initial attempt to stop the brown Honda Odyssey failed, when it sped away.  Over the next several minutes police monitored the car, with several different patrol units reporting in.  Despite not being actively pursued by police, the vehicle continued to run stop signs and red lights.

A few minutes later, a member of the police canine unite reported the car has smashed into a home in the 14 Hundred block of Grey Street. The driver of the vehicle took off, but was captured by the canine officer.

The suspect had a bite wound on the arm, and was taken to hospital for treatment, before being taken to a police cell.

Twenty-eight year-old Shelby Anne Curtis, of Regina, is charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000,  operation of a conveyance dangerous to public, and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace.

Curtis was released, and will be back in court in June.
