Three men face charges after robberies at a pair of Regina pharmacies earlier this month.
On April 12 at 11:00 a.m., it was reported that three men broke through a pharmacy counter and stole a number of drugs before fleeing in a vehicle in the 4600 block of Rae Street. A little over an hour later, the three suspects robbed another pharmacy located in the 1600 block of Dewdney Avenue East before feeling in a vehicle, described as a white Totoya Camry with an Alberta license plate.
Later that afternoon, an RCMP officer had stopped a speeding white Totoya Camry near Morse, which led to discovering a loaded handgun and various types and amounts of illegal drugs.
The RCMP laid charges against the three men from the vehicle.
The Regina Police Service said that communication between police agencies led to the realization the vehicle and (potentially) its occupants might be involved in the crimes just committed in Regina, which led to further investigation by RPS.
After the conclusion of the Regina Police Service’s investigation, new charges were laid against 22-year-old Matthew O’Connor, 21-year-old Mustafa Saeed, and 22-year-old Mujahid Babekir. All of them are from Calgary and were all charged with robbery.
All three accused made their first court appearance in Provincial Court on April 20.
