Pats hold 6th pick in WHL Prospects Draft

The Regina Pats currently hold the 6th pick of the first round of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft after the Western Hockey League held their draft lottery on Thursday afternoon.

The Medicine Hat Tigers were the winners of the lottery and currently hold the first overall pick.  All of the teams that didn’t qualify for the WHL playoffs took part in the lottery.

The WHL Prospects Draft takes place on Thursday May, 19.

Players eligible for the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft will be 2007-born players who reside in western section of the Canada and the United States.

The Pats also earned the third overall pick in the WHL U.S. Priority Draft after the completion of a draft lottery. All of the WHL teams were eligible for the first overall pick in the U.S. Priority Draft.

Players eligible for the 2022 WHL U.S. Priority Draft will be 2007-born players who reside in western region of the United States.

The Edmonton Oil Kings have the first pick in the WHL U.S. Priority Draft.
