Federal and Provincial Governments to provide funding for Sask. projects

The federal and provincial government have teamed up to provide close to $36 million in funding for 24 infrastructure projects.

Among the projects receiving funding include the wastewater plant in Melville which will receive a combined total of almost $8 million from both levels of government.

In Moosomin, the community will receive almost $10 million combined from the two levels of government for their water treatment plant.

The Rouleau Flats flood protection project in Avonlea will receive over $4 million from the federal and provincial governments.

The Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program is providing $33.5 billion over 11 years for public infrastructure across Canada. Under this program, provinces and territories prioritize and submit projects to Infrastructure Canada for review.

To date, the program has approved more than $20 billion for over 4,500 projects in communities across the country.
