Special weather statement in effect for Moosomin and Carlyle areas

Another Colorado low is expected to rock the prairies for the third straight weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Moosomin, Grenfell, Carlyle, and Oxbow areas.

The statement says western Manitoba and the Red River Valley areas could see between 20-50 mm of precipitation throughout the weekend. The northern plains is expected to feel the impact of the Colorado low beginning on Friday night.

Southeast Saskatchewan could see lower amounts based on the latest weather modules.

The Manitoba area is expected to receive the brunt of the storm this weekend.

Environment Canada says residents should keep an eye on the forecast throughout the week to get an updated look at the weather for the weekend.
