Province reports 14 more COVID deaths

The Government of Saskatchewan released its weekly COVID-19 report, with the province announcing that 14 more people have died due to COVID-19 in the province.

The majority of deaths (12) were among those 60 years of age or older, with one person dying in the 20 to 39 and 40 to 59 age groups.

The province also reported a decrease in hospitalizations with 19 fewer people in the hospital, bringing that total to 390, though the number of ICU patients remained the same at 20.

Seven hundred sixty-six new cases of COVID were confirmed, lower than last week’s number of 829. There were also 17 confirmed COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care and care home settings.

The deaths and cases are as of April 30, with the hospitalizations as of May 4.
