White City’s new splash park set to be completed by end of month

With the weather warming up, White City will soon give its residents a way to cool off.

The Town is renovating its splash park after receiving $122,250 through the Government of Canada’s Canada Community Revitalization Fund. An additional $90,000 was provided through the Government of Saskatchewan’s Municipal Economic Enhancement Program and $87,750 from the Town of White City’s asset renewal reserve.

The upgrade and expansion of the splash park will allow more residents and visitors to use the park. It will include accessible water features so that people of all abilities can enjoy the facility.

Mayor Brain Fergusson said they greatly appreciate the contributions to the park.

“The splash park is a very popular feature in our community. We are excited to have support from federal and provincial partners in rejuvenating this facility and being able to add new accessibility features.”

Work on the project started in 2021 with the demolition of the previous splash pad. The new park is set to complete later this month, on May 31.

The Town plans on holding a grand opening of the new splash park in conjunction with a summer festival on June 11.
