COVID wastewater levels drop in cities across province

Saskatchewan’s biggest cities saw a decrease in COVID-19 in their wastewater.

The University of Regina reported a significant decrease for Regina compared to last week and is now nearing the levels from the beginning of the Omicron wave.

Meanwhile, Saskatoon saw the traces of COVID-19 in their wastewater plan decrease by 85 percent, the third-lowest record in the City so far this year.

Other cities like Prince Albert and North Battleford also had declining numbers, seeing a 65 per cent and 90 per cent decrease.

The wastewater levels come after the province reported 19 more deaths with 710 new laboratory-confirmed cases for the week of May 1-7, which decreased from the previous week.
