Riders Camp: Lokombo Still Coming Back From Serious Injury

Michael Ball Reporting from Training Camp in Saskatoon
It was a day to remember for Riders defensive back Nelson Lokombo as he took part in his first professional football practice.
The 2nd round 2021 draft pick, who missed all of last season because of an Achilles injury, admitted he was nervous. “I was anxious for today’s practice but now that I’m through it I feel relieved.”
The Abbotsford, BC product says he’s not quite back to full strength but he’s getting there: “I’m at about 90 percent and that’s exactly where I thought I’d be in this process!”
Lokombo, who played his collegiate ball at the U of S, was pleased to be in his old stomping grounds, “The dorms we’re staying in are the same ones I stayed at in my rookie season, this is very comfortable to me.”

Lokombo and his teammates are back on the practice field Saturday at 9am. Michael Ball and Luc Mullinder will have a special edition of the Sports Cage Saturday at 4pm.
