SaskPower inspecting over 100k wooden power poles in province

From now until October, inspections will be done in Shellbrook, Rosthern, Stoughton, Rosetown, Spiritwood, Saskatoon Rural East, La Ronge and Buffalo Narrows.

SaskPower announced their annual inspection program, which aims to help provide safe and reliable power to SaskPower customers. The inspection work involves looking for damage, signs of decay or carpenter ant infestations.

When possible, SaskPower will repair or reinforce power poles that have been damaged to extend their life and keep it in service.

No outages are expected to occur as a result of this work.

This year, SaskPower is investing $6.6 million into the testing and treatment of wood power poles.
