Regina man charged after dangerous driving incident

A 35-year-old man Regina man is facing charges after an incident of dangerous driving on Thursday morning.

The incident happened in the 3900 Block of 2nd Avenue where police received a report that a truck had driven into a yard and struck a tree.

The truck then headed westbound, where it collided with a second tree.

Police attempted a traffic stop, but the truck driver carried on driving through another front yard and then into a construction zone, where he came to a stop. The driver then tried to flee on foot, but a Police Service Dog was used to apprehend the suspect.

The 35-year-old was arrested and charged with flight from a peace officer, impaired operation of a vehicle by alcohol, failure or refusal to comply with demand, and breach of conditional sentence order

He made his first court appearance in Regina Provincial Court on May 26.
