Riot drop road game to Valkyries

The Regina Riot lost 46-7 to the Saskatoon Valkyries Saturday in Sasaktoon, putting their record at 1-2 in the Western Women’s Canadian Football League.

Kasey McCombs, a first year running back, got the lone touchdown for the Riot, giving her four for the season.

The rematch, which is also the last regular season game for the Riot, will be taking place Saturday night at Mosaic Stadium.

Earlier this week, the Riot also learned that several of their players have been selected to represent Canada at the World Women’s Football Championships in Finland July 28 to August 8. Those are Hailee Raffey (OL), Alex Kowalski (WR), Shanelle Rioux (WR), Rebecca Hove (RB), McCombs (RB), Rae-Lynn Schaffer (LB) and Quinn Petrinchuk (DL).
