City of Regina releases citizen satisfaction survey report

The City of Regina released its annual citizen satisfaction survey report.

The report highlights how residents feel about what is happening in the City and what they feel are the most important issues.

The 2021 survey collected data from a random sample of 800 Regina residents and was conducted over the phone and online.

Residents were asked, “What is the most important issue facing the City of Regina; that is, the one issue you think should receive the greatest attention?

The top five ‘most important’ issues were:

  • housing cost/affordability (17%)
  • taxes/fiscal responsibility (10%)
  • public safety/crime/policing (9%)
  • roads/sidewalks/snow/garbage (7%)
  • infrastructure/services (7%)
Jim Nicol, the City of Regina’s interim city manager said that the survey is another tool for the City to use.
“The intent is to have an instrument to give us more information on kind of a constant basis as to where they citizens feel their quality of life is, some of their priorities,” he said. “It’s just one of many tools that city council and administration use when we are developing the budget strategic plans.”

The survey also asked residents to rate their quality of life on a scale from 1 to 10.

Seventy-seven percent of respondents rated the quality of life in Regina as good to very good (7-10), 17 percent as neutral (5-6), while seven percent rated the quality of life as not good (1-4).
