There will be no long march to the finals for the Regina Riot this WWCFL season.
The Riot lost on the road in Winnipeg, with the Manitoba Fearless picking up the 20-13 victory.
Rookie running back Kasey McCombs scored both touchdowns for the Riot, giving her seven rushing majors in five games this season.
A last-minute rally by the Riot fell just short, as Regina was stopped on third down from the Fearless’ 12-yard line.
The Fearless will take on the top remaining seed from the Western (Alberta) conference in next week’s league semi-finals. The league final will be held June 25 in Saskatoon.
