Second charged in Regina’s sixth homicide of 2022

A second youth has been charged in Regina’s sixth homicide of the year.

A 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder, joining a 15-year-old who had already been charged.

The investigation into the homicide began on June 29 when police were called to the 1200 block of Rae Street. When officers arrived, they found a dead 14-year-old and an injured 32-year-old female.

The 17-year-old is charged with first-degree murder, assault with a weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

The youth made his first court appearance on these charges in Youth Court on July 4.
