Police arrest woman after attempted robbery of taxi driver

A Regina woman has been charged in connection to a mid-June robbery of a taxi driver.

On June 17, police were dispatched to the area of McIntyre Street and 8th Avenue, where a taxicab driver reported that two females had attempted to rob him with a knife after he responded to their request for a cab in the area of 7th and Albert Street.

Minutes into the trip, the driver reported that one female held a knife to his neck and demanded cash. The man was able to get himself out of danger without injury, and the females exited his van.

An investigation determined the identity of both the female who used the night and the other passenger.

Twenty-eight-year-old Priscilla Rose Wasacase of Regina is charged with robbery and breach of probation.

She made her first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Thursday.
