Stolen vehicle results in multiple charges for Regina man

The Regina Police service has laid charges concerning a vehicle stolen earlier this week.

On Wednesday, the Regina Police Service received a report of a stolen 2017 Subaru Impreza.

The vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a residence in the 200 block of Douglas Avenue sometime between 8:00 p.m. on July 12th and 8:30 a.m. on the 13th.

At about 8:00 p.m. on July 13th, a vehicle matching the description of the stolen Impreza was spotted by police. The officer watched the vehicle stop in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Albert Street and waited for the driver and passenger to exit.

The driver started to walk away as police approached, but when the officer gave him a verbal warning, he stopped and was taken into custody without incident.

Thirty-one-year-old Zacharia Malachi Stevenson of Regina is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000,
  • Possession of Ammunition contrary to Prohibition,
  • Breach of probation,
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order

Stevenson made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court Thursday.
