Longtime RMF builder Kelly Hamilton passes away

Kelly Hamilton, one of the main building blocks of the Regina Minor Football (RMF) program has passed away.

Hamilton was involved with Regina Minor Football since 1995.

In his playing days, he suited up for the O’Neill Titans and the Regina Rams, where he played alongside  Len Antonini.

The pair would go on to help turn Regina Minor Football into one of the premier football programs in the country, with many players eventually moving on to the pros.

In 1999, there were about 400 kids who played minor football in Regina, that number has now multiplied into the thousands along with leagues in the fall and in the spring.

They would also be responsible for getting artificial turf installed at Leibel Field along with grandstands, scoreboard, media booths, concessions and locker rooms.

Hamilton along with Antonini were both enshrined in the Regina Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
