You Can Book Kids for Vaccine Tomorrow

Parents, get set to dial.

Starting tomorrow (Thursday) morning, you can book your children for their first COVID Vaccine.

Last week, Health Canada approved the Moderna Vaccine for children between the ages of six months, and five years, in smaller doses than adults would get.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority will have about 13-thousand doses of the vaccine available, but they expected to run out before the next shipment arrives in August.  So, the government wants to focus on children who are immunocompromised first.

Parents can book immunocompromised children by calling the provincial government’s toll free line 1-833-Sask-VAX (1-833-727-5829) starting at 8:45am tomorrow (Thursday).

Then Friday, all parents of children in this category can call and start booking appointments.

Current vaccine eligibility in Saskatchewan is open to anyone 15 years and older to get up to three vaccination shots, while people over 50 are eligible for their fourth dose.  That is expected to open wider next month.
