Gas prices moving south – providing relief at the pump

Drivers may be able to breathe a sigh of relieve as gas prices seem to be trending towards a lower point than they have been at in recent months.

Gas price monitoring website Gas Buddy reporting that prices in Regina have fallen 13.3 c/L in the last week with the average price now coming in at 167.62 c/L.
Prices still remain substantially higher than this time last year – with the average price in Regina 36.8 c/L higher than prices were this time last year.

The last 5 years have seen a wide range of prices around the Queen City – with prices dipping as low as 95 c/L in 2017.

Petroleum analyst for GasBuddy Patrick De Haan, says the national average for gas prices is dropping.

“We continue to see average gas prices falling in every province, with the national average down for the 7th straight week. The Outlook is for a continued drop in most areas”

Haan adds that as long as oil prices hold at lower levels we could see prices decline even further.
