Charges Laid After Amber Alert Sunday

Charges have now been laid against  a woman, who was the focus of an Amber Alert yesterday.

Regina Police were called out to 1100 block of 13th Avenue before 5 am.  There was a report from the person inside, that a woman, known to the person inside, was trying to get in to take her two year old child.  She did not have legal custody of the child.  She was also under a court order to stay away from that home.

Police began an investigation immediately, including reports of a woman with a young child at a local hospital.  Police continued to investigate and gather information, and an amber alert was issued at 3:40pm Sunday afternoon.  Just after 5:30, after a tip from a member of the public, police located the woman and the child at a home in the 300 block of Rose Street.  The child was found unharmed.

36 year old Kerry Lynn Keewatin is facing charges of abduction of a person under 16, kidnapping, and failing to comply with a court order.
