Regina-based Prairie Clean Energy has successful trade trip to Japan

Regina-based Prairie Clean Energy has completed a successful trade mission to Japan.

Prairie Clean Energy is developing a waste flax straw pelleting plant.

CEO Mark Cooper says the flax straw pellets will sell as a biomass fuel for power generation.

He says Japan is a key market and he met with several major trading companies.

Cooper expects to be signing a partnership deal with Japanese-based Renova in the coming weeks.

Cooper says the company will be processing up to 60 thousand tons of flax straw in the coming year from a 2 million dollar facility in Regina.
