Veteran news anchor Lisa LaFlamme says she was “blindsided” after Bell Media ended her contract at CTV National News.
The long-time journalist and broadcaster made the announcement via her Twitter page.
“For 35 years, I have had the privilege of being welcomed into your homes to deliver the news on a nightly basis, so I felt you should hear this from me directly,” she said. “On June 29th, I was informed that Bell Media made a “business decision” to end my contract, bringing to a close my long career with CTV News.”
“I was, and still am, shocked and saddened by Bell Media’s decision,” she added.
LaFlamme took over the evening “national news” on CTV from Lloyd Robertson in 2011.
