Man Arrested After Using Bear Spray on Police

Police in Regina have arrested and charged a man with assaulting a peace officer, among other charges after an incident on Saskatchewan Drive.

Around 2:30 this morning, a police officer saw three men walking along Sask drive, one was carrying a baseball bat.  Police started talking to them, and one of them gave a false name.

When challenged, he took off on foot, discharging bear spray.  He was caught a few blocks away.

Thirty-one year-old Jorden Dean Peter Ross-Briltz of Regina, is charged with:

  • 2 X Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace, s. 88 CC;
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon, s. 90 CC;
  • Identity Fraud, s. 403(1)(a) CC;
  • Resist Arrest, s. 129(a) CC; and
  • 2 X Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, s. 170.01(1)(a) CC.

He made his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
