Mosaic company provides one million dollars for indigenous skills training program

The Mosaic company has announced a one million dollar investment in Morris Interactive potash digital skills training program for indigenous students.

The training program is rooted in reconciliation and targeted toward First Nations, Metis and Inuit individuals.

The five year investment follows in-kind support of on site practicums, student mentoring and training content.

Mosaic CEO Joc O’Rourke says the ten week innovative training program is built to be community-specific with a program for student success, long-term careers, mutual respect and shared economic benefit.

The pilot program in partnership with Cowessess first nation in 2022, including practicum work at Mosaic’s Esterhazy operations and resulted in nine indigenous graduates, five of which have acquired mining specific jobs.

The next course will be in Saskatoon from September 26th to December 11th.
