-Happy Bicentennial.  Friday’s contest between  the green and white and black and orange will mark the 200th meeting between the two squads. Saskatchewan holds an advantage in the head to head matchups with a 103-92-4 record.

— Storming back.  The Lions have the current edge in gaining the crucial tiebreaker between the two teams. BC scored 18 unanswered points in the second in their 32-17 victory over the Riders on July 29.

— Consistent Coach. Craig Dickenson heads into Friday’s game second on the Riders list for winning percentage (.659) by a Head Coach with a win-loss total of 27-14.

— Rocket Rourke. It has been a fast start for QB Nathan Rourke. He currently leads the CFL with 2,906 passing yards. The last time a QB had this many yards in the CFL was in 1993 when Matt Dunigan had 3,032)

— Another Lions QB tale.  Rourke is on pace to end the season with 6,538 yards which would only trail Doug Flutie’s totals with BC in 1991 with 6,619 yards)

— Common Comebacks. Coming back from a deficit is nothing new for the BC Lions. Along with their resurgent second half against the Riders three weeks ago, the Lions are coming off a thrilling 41-40 win over Calgary, where BC overcame a 17 point disadvantage against the Stamps with 1:17 remaining in the second quarter.

Crowding the List. The Lions have three wide receivers in the league’s top ten list for receiving yards. (Dominique Rhymes fourth overall , Keon Hatcher sixth overall, Lucky Whitehead seventh overall)

— Home rebound. The Riders are currently on a two game losing streak at Mosaic Stadium. Along with their loss to BC, the Riders were defeated by the Toronto Argonauts on July 24. The last time Saskatchewan dropped three games in a row on home turf was in 2015.

— Dynamic Duo.  The Riders Darnell Sankey and Larry Dean are the current league leaders in tackles. If this holds up at the end of the season, the two linebackers would join BC’s Solomon Elimimian and BC as the only teammates to lead the league in tackles. The pair of Lion linebackers pulled off the feat in 2016.
