K-9 Unit catches break-in suspect

A suspect in a break in Sunday night was apprehended by members of the Regina Police Service’s K-9 unit.
Police were called to the 600 block of Montague Street at about 9:50 p.m. Sunday night.
A adult male suspect had fled the scene but callers indicated the man was hiding in nearby yards. Members of the K-9 unit arrived on scene and tracked the man under a deck at a residence. The suspect refused to come out and the police dog bit the man on the arm. The man was arrested and taken to hospital.
Shayden Alexzander Thompson, 26, is charged with mischief and break and enter with intent.
Thompson made his first appearance in Regina provincial court this morning.
