Regina police investigate suspicious package

A suspicious package in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue earlier today was… a dud.
Regina police’s explosives disposal unit were on the scene for a couple of hours on the report of the package.
Regina Police said in a statement today: “There was no explanation for how the package had gotten there and its appearance was concerning. The owner contacted police, who dispatched patrol officers along with members of the Explosives Disposal Unit. The package was deemed to be a hoax device, with no potential threat to public safety.”

Police had asked the public to avoid the area but they now say there is no risk to the public of the police from this package.
Anyone with information is asked to call Regina police.
