18-year-old charged with attempted murder

An 18-year-old is facing a charge of attempted murder after an altercation at a residence in south Regina.

At 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3000 block of Parliament Avenue for a report of a weapons offence.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from what appeared to be knife wounds.

Witnesses say the suspect entered the residence shortly before 7 a.m.; moments later, during an altercation, the victim was assaulted with a bladed weapon. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was arrested by the Weyburn Police Service and will not be named as this incident is a domestic conflict.

The man made his first appearance in Provincial Court on September 29.
