Province releases first CRISP report about respiratory illnesses

Respiratory viral activity in the province is increasing, according to the province’s inaugural CRISP report.
The Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program, or CRISP, is replacing the months situation report that was being put out by the province.
It said that test positivity is down to 9.3 per cent from 11 per cent in the previous reporting period.

The government says “COVID-19 hospitalizations have remained plateaued since July at approximately 160 admissions per week; ICU admissions remain stable at approximately nine per week.”
It says “other respiratory viruses have increased this reporting period, and test positivity rate among the other respiratory viruses is four times that of COVID-19.”
There were 474 lab confirmed cases last week, and 162 hospital admissions, with nine ICU admissions. Since September 11, there has been a total of 39 deaths of patients with COVID 19.
