Residents may see clouds of black smoke near the Regina Airport

The Regina Airport Authority is giving the public a heads-up on their fire training on Monday.
“We’re required on the regular, especially when we have new firefighters starting, that they have to go through the process of potentially putting out live fires,” says Justin Reves, Manager of Customer Experience and Marketing with the airport.
All training procedures are conducted by the RAA Emergency Services and are regulated by Transport Canada.
The public may see large amounts of black smoke near the airport but this is part of the training simulation.
The smoke is expected to occur anytime on Monday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
