Thunder recognized with players of the week awards

 

The Regina Thunder wrapped up their regular season on Sunday with a 42-14 win over the Edmonton Huskies.

A pair of players were recognized for their efforts in the victory with player of the week awards.

Linebacker Stephen Smith was named defensive player of the week, he had four tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pass knockdown for the Thunder.

Picking up the special teams player of the week award was linebacker Devin Baumann. He set a new CJFL record with five special teams tackle.

The Thunder will begin their playoff quest on Sunday when they host the Winnipeg Rifles at Leibel Field, with a kickoff at 1:00.
