APAS welcomes widespread weekend moisture for parched Sask grainbelt

The president of APAS welcomes widespread weekend moisture in the Saskatchewan grainbelt.

The weather office says the southern grainbelt had rainfall equivalent of 15 to 30 millimeters on the weekend while the northern grainbelt had 5 to 10 millimeters.

Ian Boxall of Tisdale says farmland has been extremely dry this fall across much of the province and the moisture is welcome.

Environment Canada says the largest snowfall was in the southwest, with some areas receiving 30 to 40 centimeters or over a foot of snow.
